BigPlay on Apple: search, navigation and finding your playlists
Published October 22, 2026
A useful mobile viewing experience starts with finding what you want, then getting back to it easily.
An Apple app with an existing history
BigPlay supports iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Its App Store history reaches at least December 2023 under the earlier Smart IPTV identity, followed by a BigPlay rebrand and successive redesigns. This is an evolving Apple app, rather than a first arrival on Apple. The listing names Irfan Shah as developer. That record establishes the app’s lineage; it does not establish a decades-long company history. Apple listing and version history.
Make navigation work for your viewing
- Choose the intended playlist before judging its available content.
- Try one distinctive team or title word, then compare the returned channel names and programme listings. Our sports testing found these can provide different clues.
- Use favourites for repeat choices and Continue Watching to resume supported titles.
- Test the supplied VOD copy for language and picture quality. In our tested BigPlay VOD playback, alternate source selection and audio/subtitle controls were not available; do not assume that advertised platform features are present in every playback screen.
The Apple listing advertises search, favourites, Continue Watching, audio tracks and subtitles. Our hands-on VOD test did not expose the audio/subtitle options, so those advertised controls should not be promised for that tested experience. Search results and available copies depend on the connected service. A player cannot manufacture a missing schedule.
HOME shows a playlist, but YOU says none connected?
In one StreamSolved iPhone test after a trial-to-Pro change, YOU reported no connected playlists. Both saved playlists remained visible on HOME. Opening each from HOME loaded it again. Normally the last-used playlist had loaded automatically on HOME. On this startup neither playlist loaded until selected manually. This was a failure to resume a playlist, not observed deletion.
If you see the same combination, check HOME and open the existing playlist before recreating it. Then check playback and revisit YOU. We have not established whether the cause was selection state, delayed loading or an interface defect, nor whether the purchase triggered it. This single observation is not a confirmed widespread bug or a guaranteed remedy.
For a repeatable report, record the app version, the screen showing the empty message and whether reopening the app requires selecting the playlist again. Leave passwords and private playlist URLs out of feedback.
TV Shows: Categories dropdown crash observed
During our October 22, 2026 iPhone testing, opening TV Shows and tapping the Categories dropdown at the top caused BigPlay to close. That blocks category browsing in the tested session. We have not established the cause, affected versions or whether it occurs with every playlist.
Until resolved, avoid that dropdown and try Home search to find a specific show. Search worked well in our earlier VOD testing; we have not yet confirmed it as a workaround for this crash. There is no evidence here that deleting playlists or reinstalling the app is necessary.
For developer feedback, the reproduction steps are: open the app, enter TV Shows, tap Categories, observe the app closing. Include the BigPlay version, iOS version, device model and whether the same action fails again after reopening. Do not include account passwords or private playlist URLs.
Keep app payment separate from service access
BigPlay supplies the player; you supply an authorized service. Its homepage describes an Apple trial followed by a subscription, while its help page still describes free use without purchases. Check the actual purchase screen and Apple subscription record for your plan rather than relying on that conflicting help text. BigPlay homepage · Help centre.
Try mobile, then picture the big screen
A mobile trial lets you assess search and playback. Our Setup adds organized big-screen surfing and guide mappings for supported services. Those are separate benefits worth comparing against your own viewing habits.
Your provider choice stays yours.
StreamSolved is provider-agnostic for live TV, VOD shows and movies. We help you compare value, stability and quality, guide the referral, then configure the agreed apps and devices. You buy and renew accounts directly with your chosen providers. Our setup and support are separate services.
